A news item yesterday caught our eyes:
Learn Irish for Free on iPhone -Free Download of Byki Irish for iPhone App on St. Patrick’s Day
And we thought – OK, cool – but…. how many people want to learn to speak Irish? (no offense to our Irish speaking readers – and btw, my grandfolk are from the Green Isle)
But seriously! Even Yahoo’s Babel Fish does not include Irish.
Unfortunately for Byki we have just been browsing through iPodbomb – (they had caught our attention by publishing that great long list of cool ways to get a free iPod Touch.) While we were there, we looked around a bit and noticed a post about a site that offers a whole host of free language lessons (including Irish!) through iTunes.
To quote the blurb on the RadioLingua site:
The most important thing you need to know is that access to all our audio course is entirely free. You can download entire courses from our website or through iTunes without paying a penny!
We checked with iTunes and there are over 16 different language courses available from the Podcast library – for FREE! And anyhow, you can subscribe straight from RadioLingua if you fancy something else. Depending on your level of interest and skill you can choose the short 3-4 min lessons or longer sessions (up to 30 minutes). Pretty good way to learn that language you always wanted to master – and all for free!
